I couldn't help but feel compelled to draw a comparison between the Pharisees and Sadducees, and those in power in American government and the overwhelming will of the citizenry of the people of America who stand in contradiction to them. There is a repetitive spiritual principal I think we see over and over... and I humbly submit that in order for civilization to thrive in G-d's Blessings, we must forever maintain His Set Apart people, to protect them (The Pharisees/Tzaddikim) and create a protective hedge about them. The Pharisees in western culture are misrepresented, as stated above, they were truly righteous, showing mercy and grace in truth. It was the Sadducees who maintained an erroneous philosophy, contradictory to Torah, that allowed for pride to come in and defile and destroy. May we learn to apply this in every facet of our lives and communities...Guard Humility, Eschew Pride. Thank you for such an inspirational and informative article. BH'
